Greenwich Crew brings home three national titles

Recently seven boats from Greenwich Crew competed at the highest level on a 2,000 meter course at Nathan Benderson Park at USRowing’s Youth National Championships at in Sarasota Florida.
Greenwich Crew had itself quite a season. From the start of the season way back in August, both the men’s and women’s crew teams were hard at work, determined to make their presence felt at the 2019 USRowing Youth National Championship meet.
Once again, rowers representing Greenwich Crew shined bright under the national spotlight.
Winning eight races, finishing second in eight more and posting three third-place finishes, Greenwich Crew indeed, added to its already expansive collection of medals by flourishing at the 2019 USRowing Northeast Youth Championships recently.
This time of year is especially exciting for high school athletes who are planning to continue their sports careers at the collegiate level.
Swim Across America Fairfield County and Greenwich Crew are teaming up for a charity rowing event Meters for a Cure ERG Challenge on September 16, 2018, with proceeds funding Swim Across America Fairfield County and it’s beneficiary the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy (ACGT), the nation’s only foundation dedicated exclusively to funding cancer gene therapy research.
A contingent of Connecticut rowers helped the United States produce its most successful showing at one of the sports biggest stages — the 2018 World Junior Rowing Championships in Racice Czech Republic.
This past weekend, under sunny skies and near perfect conditions, 6 boats from Greenwich Crew participated in the 2018 USRowing Youth National Championships on Lake Natoma in Gold River, CA – the premier youth rowing event in the United States.
Greenwich Crew certainly made its presence felt at the 2018 USRowing Northeast Youth Championships last weekend on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass., and because of that, they’ll take their skills to the national level.
Greenwich Crew has become one of the top rowing programs in the United States. Highlighted by Greenwich Crew’s recent success at the Youth National Championships where the program was well represented with multiple boats winning medals and national titles!
Over the weekend of May 20th-21st, the 2017 Northeast Youth Rowing Championships were held on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Massachusetts. In attendance were nearly 2000 athletes who represented more than 400 crews from over 40 teams.
